Who to book with

Every company that appears anywhere in the research — operators, agencies and island locals — with their contacts, an honest summary of what travellers say about them, what they actually sell, and a ready-to-send message for each. Christmas availability changes fast; the sellers who answer these questions in writing are the ones worth paying.

The four questions every message below asks

1 · Availability. Is the specific sailing actually available for 2 passengers on those dates?

2 · The cabin. Exactly which cabin category — and cabin number — does the price buy? And what does an upper-deck cabin cost?

3 · The itinerary. The day-by-day route: which islands and visitor sites does it really cover?

4 · The terms. Can you hold the space while we decide? Deposit, cancellation and transfer terms?

Why the cabin question is non-negotiable: passenger reviews warn specifically about the Monserrat's lower-deck cabins 1–2 (no window, no floor space beside the bed — you climb across it) and cabin 3 (engine noise and diesel fumes). An unnamed cabin is not a bookable cabin.

Why Genovesa gets confirmed in writing: in 2024 a seller kept advertising a Genovesa itinerary for months after the park had closed the island, and the passenger only found out on board. One written sentence costs nothing — get it.

The message templates stay in English — they are emails to send as-is. Open "Message to send" on a card, press Copy, paste into your mail app. Everything else on this page switches with the EN | FR toggle.

Covers: Runs its own 11-day Monserrat departures (two naturalist guides, US$200,000 medevac insurance included) and books other Galápagos ships and tours. The Monserrat is one of "their" ships — they know it cabin by cabin.

What travellers say: Praised by name by Monserrat passengers, and a December 2022 review tells of CNH rescuing a trip after a passport problem. No serious complaints found. One disclosure: co-owner Heather Blenkiron is TripAdvisor's Galápagos Destination Expert — an expert with a declared interest.

Subject: Monserrat, Christmas 2026 — your 11-day departures, or the Dec 24–31 8-day?

Hello CNH team,

We're 2 passengers (Carlos + Maheva) planning a Galápagos trip for Dec 22, 2026 – Jan 2, 2027, and the Monserrat is our first-choice ship. Two questions:

1) Do any of your own 11-day Monserrat departures fall inside Dec 22 – Jan 2? If so, please send the dates, the day-by-day itinerary (which islands and visitor sites), the price per person, and exactly which cabin category — and cabin number, if assignable — that price buys. If it is a lower-deck cabin, what is the upper-deck price?

2) If not, can you book us onto Via Natura's standard Monserrat 8-day sailing, Dec 24–31 (north + west, including Genovesa)? The same cabin questions apply.

Also please confirm: can you hold the space while we decide, what deposit is due and when, and what are the cancellation and name-transfer terms?

We're comparing written quotes this week and will book with whoever confirms the details first.

Thank you,
Carlos Riveros

What travellers say: Consistently recommended on Reddit and the forums, with multiple TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice awards and no serious complaints found. Read the terms, though: bookings under 91 days out require FULL payment within 7 days, and refunds are decided by the operator, not by Happy Gringo.

Subject: Monserrat 8-day, Dec 24–31, 2026 — availability, cabin and price for 2?

Hello Happy Gringo team (Jacky — you came recommended by a Monserrat passenger),

We are 2 passengers (Carlos + Maheva) interested in the Monserrat 8-day Northwestern itinerary departing Dec 24, 2026, returning Dec 31. Could you confirm in writing:

1) AVAILABILITY: Is the Dec 24 sailing still available for 2?

2) PRICE AND CABIN: Your price per person — and exactly which cabin category AND cabin number it buys. If the price is for a lower-deck cabin, what is the upper-deck price? (Passenger reviews specifically warn about the Monserrat's lower-deck cabins 1–2, so the cabin matters to us.)

3) ITINERARY: The day-by-day places visited — please confirm Genovesa is on this sailing's park-approved itinerary.

4) TERMS: We understand bookings under 91 days out require full payment within 7 days — please confirm, plus your cancellation and transfer terms. And does any current Monserrat promotion (we've seen 35–40% off select dates) apply to the Dec 24 departure?

Thank you,

Via Natura

OperatorSolid

Ecuador · operates the Monserrat — write to Diego Andrade

Covers: Operates the Monserrat (and the Hermes catamaran). Its own TourRadar storefront shows the Monserrat 8-day at $5,695 pp Lower Deck for Nov 26 and Dec 10 departures — Dec 24 is published nowhere, so it has to be asked for.

What travellers say: The source itself: a booking here is operator-confirmed by definition. A July 2025 passenger who booked direct called it "a bit unofficial… it all worked out", and consistency of communications gets criticised — but there are no scam reports, and nobody is closer to the cabin list than Via Natura.

Subject: Monserrat — direct quote for 2: 8-day Dec 24–31 AND 5-day west Dec 27–31

Hello Diego,

We are 2 passengers (Carlos + Maheva) planning Christmas in the Galápagos (Dec 22, 2026 – Jan 2, 2027), and we'd like to book the Monserrat directly with you, the operator. Please quote both options:

A) The 8-day Northern + Western sailing, Dec 24–31.
B) The 5-day western segment boarding Dec 27 (Dec 27–31) — we are planning land days before it, as a hybrid trip.

For reference: Galapatours lists the 5-day segment at $4,217 pp, while Adventure Life shows a Monserrat 5-day western from $3,368 pp — so your direct price will decide.

For each option, please confirm in writing:
1) Availability for 2.
2) The exact cabin category AND cabin number the price buys — and the upper-deck price if the quote is a lower-deck cabin. (Reviews warn specifically about lower-deck cabins 1–3: engine noise, no window.)
3) The day-by-day itinerary. For option A, please confirm Genovesa is on this sailing's park-approved itinerary.
4) Can you hold the cabin while we arrange payment? Deposit amount, balance deadline, and cancellation/transfer terms.

Thank you,

Berlin, Germany · Ventura Travel

Covers: Holds the live Monserrat Dec 24 listing: the 8-day at $6,328 pp, marked "Available" — with the cabin never named. Also sells the hybrid's 5-day segment ($4,217 pp, listed "Available").

What travellers say: Plenty of happy customers praise named agents. But two documented complaints are serious: in Nov 2025, a family's medical cancellation met 80 hours of silence, a 5% refund offer, the transfer option disclosed too late, and a refund reportedly never credited. In May 2024, they sold a Genovesa itinerary while Genovesa had been closed for 7 months (bird flu) — the passenger found out on board. Bookable, but only with everything in writing.

Subject: Monserrat Dec 24–31 — written confirmation needed: cabin, Genovesa, terms

Hello Galapatours team,

Your site lists the Monserrat 8-day (Dec 24–31, 2026) at $6,328 pp as "Available". We are 2 passengers (Carlos + Maheva), ready to book — but before any payment we need the following confirmed in writing, please:

1) AVAILABILITY: Is this sailing genuinely available for 2 — confirmed with the operator, Via Natura?

2) CABIN: Exactly which cabin category AND cabin number does $6,328 buy? If it is a lower-deck cabin, what is the price for an upper-deck cabin? Multiple passenger reviews warn about Monserrat lower-deck cabins 1–2 (no window, no floor space beside the bed — you climb across it) and cabin 3 (engine noise and diesel fumes), so we will not book an unnamed cabin.

3) GENOVESA: Please confirm in your reply that Genovesa is currently open AND on this sailing's park-approved itinerary. A previous passenger reports being sold a Genovesa itinerary while Genovesa was closed — we need this in writing.

4) CONFIRMATION: Will Via Natura issue its own operator confirmation for our booking?

5) TERMS: Deposit amount and deadline, the full cancellation schedule (we note the fee jumps to ~95% inside 60 days), and your transfer terms if one of us cannot travel.

We are collecting written quotes from several sellers this week.

Thank you,

United States

Covers: Publishes the exact Monserrat 8-day Northwestern route — "from $5,695 pp", explicitly Lower Deck — plus a huge fleet list, including Coral/Legend Christmas combos that the operator's own booking engine does not confirm.

What travellers say: A big, established US agency — and the most useful price anchor in this research: their $5,695 proves what a lower-deck Monserrat costs, which is exactly what Galapatours' $6,328 leaves unnamed. The caveat is listing staleness: treat every date as "to be operator-confirmed".

Message to send
Subject: Monserrat 8-day Northwestern — is Dec 24–31 real, and which cabins?

Hello Adventure Life team,

Your Monserrat 8-day "Northwestern Islands" page (from $5,695 pp) is labelled an "Example 8 Day Cruise". We are 2 passengers (Carlos + Maheva) who want that exact route over Christmas. Please confirm in writing:

1) Is the Dec 24–31, 2026 departure actually available for 2 — confirmed with the operator (Via Natura), not just an example itinerary?

2) Prices per cabin category for that departure — lower deck AND upper deck — and the exact cabin number(s) each price buys.

3) The day-by-day itinerary: please confirm Genovesa, Fernandina (Espinosa Point) and the western Isabela sites are all on it.

4) Can you place a hold while we decide? Deposit amount and deadline, and your cancellation/transfer terms.

One note: we've seen Coral I & II / Legend Christmas combos listed on your site that the operator's own booking engine doesn't show — so for this sailing we need operator-confirmed availability, in writing, before paying.

What travellers say: Travellers love them, and they hold a unique record in this research: the only agency with a documented hold practice — "even put a hold on the places while we made our mind up" (Sep 2025). Ideal for the land days and as an honest local cross-check.

Hello Blue Sky team,

We are 2 passengers (Carlos + Maheva) based on San Cristóbal Dec 23–26, 2026, as the land part of a hybrid trip (we then take a 5-day cruise). Four questions:

1) PUNTA PITT: On which days does the Punta Pitt tour run between Dec 23–26? Price per person for 2?

2) ESPAÑOLA: What are the Española day tour's actual operating days that week? (We've seen both Saturday and Thursday schedules published.) Which itinerary variant runs — Punta Suárez + Gardner Bay? — and what is the price?

3) FERRIES: Can you pre-book our Christmas-week ferries: Santa Cruz → San Cristóbal on Dec 23, and San Cristóbal → Santa Cruz on Dec 26?

4) HOLD: A reviewer mentioned you "even put a hold on the places while we made our mind up" — can you hold 2 places on these tours while we confirm our cruise this week? What deposit would you need?

What travellers say: The ships are real and well reviewed; the Christmas listings may not be. KleinTours' own holiday terms are hard-edged: deposits non-refundable, no holds without full payment, cabin category not guaranteed. Ask them directly — in writing — whether the sailings exist.

Subject: Coral / Legend — do the late-December A+B sailings actually exist?

Hello Go Galápagos team,

Aggregator sites list 8-day A+B combo sailings on Coral I & II (from Dec 27) and Galápagos Legend (from Dec 28) over Christmas — but your own booking engine (book.gogalapagos.com) shows none of those departures, and no 15-day product. We are 2 passengers (Carlos + Maheva). Please answer directly, in writing:

1) Do Coral or Legend actually sail 8-day A+B itineraries departing Dec 27 or Dec 28, 2026? If yes: which ship, which dates, and what is the price per person?

2) Which cabin category AND cabin number would we get? We understand from your Christmas terms that cabin category is not guaranteed — can it be guaranteed for this booking, and what would an upper/main deck cabin cost?

3) The day-by-day itinerary for the sailing (we are comparing against a confirmed west + Genovesa route).

4) We also note your Christmas terms — deposits non-refundable, no holds without full payment. Please confirm these apply, and state the full cancellation schedule.

Covers: Galaxy Orion's Itinerary B, Dec 26 – Jan 2: west + north + central at $6,300 pp (list price plus the published Christmas surcharge) — the same coverage as the Monserrat, minus Vicente Roca and Bartolomé.

What travellers say: Polarised. Several 2026 reviews praise the guide and the food; an Aug 2025 review titled "Galapagos Nightmare" describes a below-deck cabin beside the engine (noise, damp, strong motion — the yacht has no stabilisers) with two passengers quitting after day one, and tipping-pressure complaints recur. If you write, pin the deck in writing.

Hello Galaxy team,

We are 2 passengers (Carlos + Maheva) interested in Galaxy Orion Itinerary B, departing Dec 26, 2026, returning Jan 2. Please confirm in writing:

1) Which cabins remain on that sailing, and the price per person for each (we've seen $6,300 pp quoted for this departure — please confirm).

2) For each available cabin: the exact category, cabin number and DECK.

3) An honest question, because reviews are polarised: an August 2025 passenger described a lower-deck cabin beside the engine (noise, damp, strong motion) and left the ship early, while others praise the crew and food. Which lower-deck cabins, if any, are affected by engine noise — and can you guarantee in writing that our cabin is not one of them?

4) The day-by-day itinerary for Itinerary B.

5) Can you hold a cabin while we decide? Deposit, balance deadline, cancellation/transfer terms — and what is the expected crew-tip policy on board? (Recurring review comments mention tipping pressure; we'd rather budget it openly.)
